Children's Safety Village

(Friday September 18, 2009)

From today's build at the Chatham Kent Safety Village, we had 33 member companies on site at 7:30 AM, consisting of Builders, Tradesmen, retail members and sales reps from our suppliers out assisting with the 4 buildings that were in most cases 80%+ completed by days end.

All were started from a concrete pad. Some of the exterior finishes are yet to be completed by other trades. Building were erected for the EMS Chatham, Knight of Colombus had a small Chapel built, replica of a fire hall for the Chatham Kent Fire Service and a pole barn was built for Pioneer Seed Corn.

These building are all paid for by the individual sponsor and they also produce plans that must meet the guidelines of the Safety Village. The village is utilized as a method of making childern from grade 1 thur 7 aware of Bicycle safety, correct street crossing, Rail Crossing, Internet use, motorized toy safety and many other programs available to Chatham Kent Schools free of charge. Last year thousands of CK school children benifited from these programs.

CKHBA named "Corporate Citizen of the Year"

by the Chatham Kent Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at a banquet sponsored by the Chamber on Thursday March 26/09

CKHBA Presents Cheque to Chatham Kent Health Alliance MRI Campagin:

Today, Thursday April 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. The Executive of the CKHBA made the presentation under the MRI Campagin Sign in front of the Hospital on Grand Ave.W, Chatham.

The Cheque , representing the proceeds from the sale of the MRI House built last summer by CKHBA Volunters, totaled over $350,000.00.

The ceremony was attended by dozens of CKHBA Members.

It is noteworthy that the building lot, as well as the building materials were largely donated by CKHBA Members and other local businesses. The house was built in a marathon session totaling just under 40 hours. The home was also built to the strictest quality standards and meets or exceeds all regulations!

Mayor Randy Hope Speaks as CKHBA Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence:

Tuesday June 9, 2009 - Chatham Mayor Randy Hope offers congratulations to the Chatham Kent Home Builders' Association Inc. on the many acheivements and awards earned in recent years. Mayor Hope noted that over it's 50 year history, the Association has taken an active role in the community, rising to meet the changing needs of the community.

Also in attendance was Mr. Frank Gianone, Ontario HBA President. Frank is also President of FRAM Building Group and along with his 3 sibilings they've been building projects in Canada, U.S.A. and Southern Italy.
Frank offered his congratulations to our local association and pointed out the many accomplishments which led the CKHBA to be named "LOCAL ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR" by the OHBA.

Frank also offered a number of factual observations indicating that the construction industry will remain strong and healthy in the years to come!
